jeannine citlalli (she/ella) is a Xicana artist living in Lenapehoking.

She is an artist and a healer, and a Libra sun and Pisces rising (iykyk) ♡.

Jeannine earned her bachelor’s degree in fine arts, studying painting, printmaking, mixed media, and design. She went on to earn advanced degrees in art therapy and in psychology.

After many, many years of devoting time and energy to her education, training, and career, she made a shift to intentionally devote more time and space to art making. As a child of an immigrant, from a low income and challenging background, and due to necessity and survival, art making unfortunately took a back seat in her life for a long time. Multiple transformative events and losses led to a necessary and empowering refocusing, and she has reclaimed the ability to recenter art making in her life.

She shares her art under her artist name, her first and middle names. At this time, her art is not for sale (with the exception of selected art donated for the raising of funds for collective liberation, see here and here). Rather, she makes art because she has to, for her own healing, for the process itself, for ritual and reflection and meditation, for beauty and creativity and life. She shares some of her art in case it inspires, resonates, moves, and connects, and she hopes it may speak to the hearts and spirits of others.
